Seattle minimum wage difficult for younger workers

MyNorthwest reports that University of Washington researchers have determined that Seattle’s $15 minimum wage has influenced employer hiring processes. They say that a high initial wage means that employers are more likely to only hire people with experience over other candidates. The minimum wage boost encouraged more young people to join the workforce, however the number of that population of hires has declined since the initial increase. Read the full story here.
