Washington state industries hit hard by trade war

The Tri-City Herald reports that initial fears shared by Washington agricultural and business leaders back when President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on steel and aluminum have now become the reality as industries within the trade-dependent state are reporting challenges faced by the ongoing trade war. Agricultural stakeholders across different sectors such as cherry or wheat growers say they have been hit hard by the trade war, and a spokesperson from the Washington Grain Commission has reported that “we haven’t sold anything this year” to China.
