Skagit Valley College works on addressing manufacturing worker shortage

A Washington Resource Council report released this summer found that it is important to partner community colleges and manufacturing companies to address skilled worker gaps. Skagit Valley College is taking matters into its own hands by designing its manufacturing department to fit the needs of local companies and the communities they reside in. The program might take two years to develop, and the college will use the report and open discussions with stakeholders to tailor the department’s focus to best fill skilled worker needs.
