Assisting agriculture producers during trade negotiations

Northwest Public Broadcasting reports that U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue visited agriculture sector leaders in Spokane this week, and said the Department will consider buying crops affected by tariffs under Section 32 and then will use that food in school lunch programs and food banks. Perdue said that President Donald Trump is working to make sure that the sector will not “bear the brunt of trade disruptions” in trade wars between China, Canada and Mexico.  Read the full story here.
