Trump moves forward with Chinese tariffs

President Donald Trump declared he would continue implementing 25 percent tariffs on $50 billion of Chinese imports and will restrict Chinese investment in the U.S. tech sector.

The White House statement from the announcement reads: “To protect our national security, the United States will implement specific investment restrictions and enhanced export controls for Chinese persons and entities related to the acquisition of industrially significant technology.”

The list of imports will be announced by June 15, and the tech investment restrictions will be announced by June 30, with implementation shortly after.
