Fish and Wildlife plan controlled burns

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has begun a series of controlled burns on land it manages in Okanogan, Ferry and Pend Oreille counties. The agency is working in conjunction with other agencies as well as with private contractors. The burn areas’ topography varies and include grasslands, Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir stands that previously have been thinned.
