Oil companies remain profitable but cautiously optimistic

The largest international oil companies including BP and ExxonMobil have experienced increased revenue streams, with $30.9 billion combined free cash flow in 2017 compared to $3.8 billion in 2014. Business leaders in the oil industry are reporting rising public and governmental pressures on the commodity which may affect money used to find innovative ways to meet consumer demands.
