Cherry industry reports heavy losses from trade negotiations

The Northwest Horticultural Council reported that the Washington cherry growers have lost between $60 million and $86 million due to the ongoing trade war and retaliatory tariffs. The cherry sector was left out of the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) farm aid package, and agricultural stakeholders say the uncertainty of not having aid is harming those growers.
